As a professional, it is important to continue to learn and grow our capabilities. I ensure that each year I devote at least one month of my time to further developing my skills, taking part in educational workshops, entering photographic competitions and traveling with other expert photographers to learn new and different techniques and approaches. Here are just a few of the workshops & trainings I have recently taken part in:
- Attending annual Imaging USA Photography Conference and classes
- Attending annual Texas School of Photography
- Attended the AIA Houston architectural photography workshop. This weekend workshop was taught by award winning architecture photographers Mariella and Luis Ayala.
- Real Estate photography and processing. During this workshop we focused on the finer details of Real Estate photography and how to manage and process real estate photographs using various software applications.
- Wildlife photography workshop. This crash course built on existing knowledge to further develop skills in the areas of fast focusing & shooting, difficult lighting conditions, stabilization and lenses selection.
- In-depth exposure workshop. This workshop covered advanced concepts of metering and exposure, how to manage all light metering situations and how to make dynamic lighting decisions to address difficult lighting scenarios.
- Managing Light. This hands on workshop covered amongst other topics depth of field, lens selection & focal length, natural lighting & metering, wireless flash, studio lighting, lighting configurations and modifying light.
